Roaming

Roaming Highlights

Roaming is defined as allowing end users from other locations the ability to visit your locations.

  • TRACKOS system is architected to allow seamless transactional roaming
  • Provides roaming between wireless networks
  • Provides roaming between NetNearU wireless locations
  • NetNearU offers roaming with the largest WISP--Boingo

NetNearU Roaming Specifics

From a network operator's standpoint:

  • Network operators have the flexibility to decide how much they want to charge roaming end users per minute of use.
  • Network operators have the flexibility to decide how much they are willing to pay for their users to roam on other systems.

From an end user standpoint:

If an end user visits a location and the roaming system charges more than their home system allocates, the end user pays a roaming rate and a roaming allocation.

Notes:

  • Caution should be used when creating unlimited plans because the network operator loses control over the amount of time their users roam. The roaming charges could eclipse the monthly subscription revenue.
  • Network operators have the option of specifying whether or not that they allow roaming users.
  • Network operators can also specify zero roaming allocation (the end user pays all roaming charges).

Boingo Roaming

  • Anytime a Boingo user roams onto your network, you receive a fee per day. Per day is defined as unlimited logins per user within a 24 hour period at one location.
  • Boingo promotes the network operator's site to the Boingo user base.
